This page covers the Lingwa Explorers app and this website. The app comes first; the website, which has a contact form, is covered further down.

Who this is for

Lingwa Explorers is a vocabulary game for young children, published by OctoByte Studios. Because it is designed for children, this policy explains in plain terms exactly what the app does and does not do.

Information we collect

None. The app asks for no name, no email address, no age, no location and no sign-in. There is nothing to create an account with, and nothing is transmitted anywhere.

Internet access

The app requests no Android permissions at all, including no internet permission. It is therefore technically incapable of sending information off the device, contacting a server, or loading content from the internet. Everything the game needs is contained in the app itself.

Advertising and analytics

There are no adverts, no sponsored content, no in-app purchases, and no analytics or crash-reporting services. The app contains no third-party advertising or tracking software of any kind.

What is stored on the device

The app saves your settings — speech volume, background volume, text size, the chosen language, and whether the "how to play" guide has been offered — in a small file in the app's own private storage on the device. This file never leaves the device, is not readable by other apps, and is deleted when the app is uninstalled. Nothing else is saved.

Children's privacy

Lingwa Explorers is intended for children and is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR provisions on children's data by the simplest possible route: it collects no personal data from anyone, of any age. There is no mechanism in the app by which a child could share information about themselves.

Third-party content

Some artwork and sounds in the game were licensed from stock libraries (Freepik, CraftPix, Pixabay and Freesound) and are credited on the game's About screen. These are files bundled inside the app; none of those services is contacted when you play, and none of them receives any information about you.

This website

lingwaexplorers.com has no accounts, no adverts, no analytics and no cookies. Its fonts, pictures and sounds are served from this site itself, so visiting it does not contact any other company's servers.

The contact form and email

If you use the contact form or email us, we receive what you send: your name, your email address and your message. We use them only to read and reply to you, and, if you ask to join the beta test, to add your email address to the test's list of testers on Google Play. We do not add you to any mailing list, and we never sell or share your details. Messages are kept in our mailbox for as long as they are useful for the conversation, and you can ask us to delete them at any time by writing to the address below.

Messages are delivered through Cloudflare Email Routing to a Google Gmail mailbox, so Cloudflare and Google process them on our behalf.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address in order to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We do not use this information to identify you.

Beta testing

If you join the beta, the test itself is run by Google Play under Google's privacy policy. Any feedback you send through Google Play is shared with us by Google.

Your rights

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to how it is used. The only information we could hold is what you have sent us yourself. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority; in Malta, that is the Information and Data Protection Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app or this website changes what it does with information, this page will be updated before that change is released, and the date at the top will change.
